Saltarello
Op. 10

The Saltarello presents a task for pianists to maintain duple rhythm in the left hand against triple rhythm in the left. Guitarists do not have bass and melody so conveniently assigned to each hand so this piece is rather challenging. I suggest learning it at a very slow tempo and counting 12 sixteenths to the measure so that each note falls on a count. Eventually each half measure will become a rhythmic unit as you become familiar with it. It can be quite dazzling at the Allegro vivace full tempo.
