Arranged for treble, tenor and six-string bass viol.

Gibbons, Orlando (1583-1625) | trio | viol | Standard | Renaissance |
One of a set of four written for treble, tenor and double bass around 1620. These are unlike his other viol fantasias in that, despite the title, they are actually full suites the first movement of which is a fantasia. Gibbons has been considered a transitional composer between the Renaissance and Baroque eras. These "fantasias" support that view as they would be among the earliest suites written. Arranged for treble, tenor and six-string bass viol. Full score with large staves, eight pages; five movements.
